When it's more than thinning

Mesh integration for significant hair loss.

Some hair loss is beyond what extensions can help, and that's exactly what mesh integration is for. It's not extensions at all. It's a soft, breathable foundation that gives you real hair, real density, and your confidence back.

If you’ve lost more than a little

There’s a point where hair loss stops being something a bit of volume can fix. Maybe you’ve watched the coverage thin year after year. Maybe it came on faster than that. Maybe you’ve already been told, gently or not, that extensions “won’t work” for you.

I want you to know there’s still an answer, and it isn’t extensions. It’s mesh integration, and it was made for exactly this.

What mesh integration actually is

Extensions attach to your own hair, which means they need enough hair to hold onto. When loss is significant, that math stops working. Mesh integration solves it a completely different way.

Instead of attaching to individual strands, it uses a soft, breathable mesh foundation placed over the areas where you’ve lost hair. Real hair is then added to that foundation, matched to blend with what you still have. Your scalp can breathe through the mesh, and the result moves and parts like hair that grew there.

I install the mesh integration system from HairDreams, using their premium European hair. It’s one of the nine methods I’m certified in, and it’s the one I turn to when the loss is beyond what any extension can reach.

This isn’t about length. It’s about giving someone their density, and their reflection, back.

Who it’s for, honestly

Mesh integration is for significant hair loss, not everyday fine or thinning hair. If you have plenty of hair and just want more length, this is more than you need, and I’ll tell you so. There are gentler, simpler options for that.

But if you’ve lost enough that toppers or extensions can’t cover it, this may be the door that finally opens. A great fit if you:

  • Have significant loss, not just thinning
  • Were turned away because there wasn’t “enough to work with”
  • Want coverage and density that genuinely passes as your own
  • Are ready for a solution you maintain over time

If your situation sits somewhere in between, we’ll talk it through. Sometimes the right answer is a custom topper or hair piece instead, and I’m certified in those too, so my recommendation is never about what I happen to sell.

When it belongs in a doctor’s office first

Hair loss is sometimes a medical question. If your loss came on suddenly, in patches, or with other symptoms, and you haven’t yet talked to a doctor or trichologist, please start there. I work alongside that, not around it. You can read more about how I approach women’s hair loss and where I think it’s right to bring in medical help.

A conversation, not a sales pitch

I know how vulnerable this topic can feel. Thirty years in this chair have taught me to hold it with care. The consultation is free, it’s unhurried, and there’s no pressure at the end of it, just an honest read on whether mesh integration is right for you, and what life with it would actually look like.

Common questions

Is mesh integration the same as extensions?

No, and that's an important distinction. Extensions attach to your existing hair, so they need enough hair to attach to. Mesh integration uses a soft, breathable mesh foundation placed over the areas of loss, with hair added to it, so it works even when there isn't much of your own hair left to build on.

Will it look and feel natural?

That's the whole point of the system. The mesh is designed to be undetectable and to let your scalp breathe, and the hair is matched to blend with what you have. Clients tell me they forget it's there. It moves, parts, and styles like hair that grew from their own head.

How do I know if I'm a candidate?

The honest answer comes from sitting down together. Mesh integration is for significant loss, not everyday thinning, so part of my job is telling you if something lighter would serve you better, or if what you're describing should be seen by a doctor first. I'll always point you toward what actually helps.

Is this permanent?

It's an ongoing solution rather than a one-time procedure. The system is maintained on a regular schedule so it stays comfortable, secure, and looking its best. I'll walk you through exactly what that upkeep looks like before you commit to anything.
