For my Scottsdale clients
Extensions worth the short drive from Scottsdale.
A good number of the women in my chair drive down from Scottsdale, and almost all of them tell me the same thing: they went looking specifically for someone who works only with fine and thinning hair, and the drive turned out to be the easy part.

Scottsdale women find me for one reason
They’re looking for someone who only does extensions, and who won’t turn them away for having fine, thin, or color-treated hair. That’s most of my practice. If you’ve been told locally that your hair “can’t handle” extensions, I’d gently push back before you give up on the idea. It usually can. It just takes the right method in the right hands.
I’ve spent thirty years working with exactly the hair other chairs send home. My clients from Scottsdale tend to come to me after a bad experience or a flat “no” somewhere closer, and the honest, no-pressure consultation is what keeps them making the drive for years.
The drive is genuinely easy
I won’t pretend I’m around the corner. I’m in Tempe, at Altered Ego Salon on East Baseline Road, and clients drive in to see me rather than the other way around. But for Scottsdale that’s a short trip. Straight down the 101, most people are here in about fifteen minutes, and folks in South Scottsdale often in ten. Baseline is quick to reach off the freeway, and parking is simple, so you’re not fighting a lot or a garage before your appointment.
I’d rather you drive fifteen minutes to the right specialist than five minutes to the wrong one.
What to expect once you’re here
Your first visit is a free, roughly thirty-minute consultation: no cost, no obligation, no hard sell. I look at your density, the strength of your hair, your color, and what you’re actually hoping for, then I tell you honestly what will work. For fine and thinning hair I most often reach for lightweight, strand-by-strand K-Tip extensions or flat-laying hand-tied wefts, because they spread weight gently instead of straining a few heavy points.
And if extensions aren’t right for you, I’ll say so and point you toward what is. That honesty is the reason my clients stay. You can read more about how I approach fine and thinning hair if that’s the worry that brought you here.
Ready when you are
Booking is by text. That’s it. Text me to set up your free consultation, tell me roughly what you’re thinking, and we’ll find a time. From Scottsdale it’s a fifteen-minute drive and thirty honest minutes in my chair to finally know where you stand.
Let’s be honest about fit.
A great fit if you…
- Live in Scottsdale and want a true fine-hair specialist, not a general salon
- Were told locally that your hair was too thin for extensions
- Don't mind a 15-minute drive for someone who does this every day
- Want length or volume that reads as your own hair
We should talk first if you…
- Need a walk-in appointment today with no consultation first
- Are dealing with sudden hair loss you haven't raised with a doctor
Not sure where you land? That’s exactly what the free consultation is for.
Common questions
How far is Terri from Scottsdale?
I work out of Altered Ego Salon at 107 E Baseline Rd in Tempe, which is about 15 minutes from most of Scottsdale straight down the 101. Clients coming from South Scottsdale are often here in ten. It's a simple, mostly-freeway drive with easy parking at the other end.
Why come to Tempe instead of staying in Scottsdale?
Because extensions are my specialty: thirty years of them, certified in nine methods, with a focus on fine and fragile hair. Most salons offer extensions as one service among many, usually in whichever single method they trained in. If your hair is delicate or you've been turned away before, that specialization is exactly what makes the short drive worth it.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Everything is by appointment, and it starts with a free consultation of about thirty minutes. That's where I look at your actual hair and tell you honestly what's possible before you commit to anything. To book, you text me. There's no online form or front desk to go through.
Will my extensions look natural for a Scottsdale lifestyle?
That's the whole point. I match the method, color, and placement to your hair so the result moves and lays like it grew there, whether you're at the office, the gym, or out on the weekend. Nothing about it should announce itself.
Free consultation
The only way to know is to sit down with me.
Consultations are free, take about thirty minutes, and you leave knowing exactly what your options are, even if the answer is “not yet.”
