For the life you actually live
If you swim, sweat through workouts, or just refuse to baby your hair, you need extensions that can keep up. A method that loosens the first time you break a sweat isn’t going to work for you, and here in Tempe, the heat alone is a test most days of the year.
Beaded wefts are the method I reach for when durability is the priority. The hold doesn’t come from glue or tape that water and sweat can break down. It comes from a foundation of small beads anchored in your own hair, with the weft sewn securely to it. No adhesive, no heat, nothing that summer can undo.
How they work
I start by creating small rows in your hair, anchored with beads that grip gently but firmly. Then I stitch the weft, a strip of extension hair, onto that beaded foundation. The result is a secure, low-profile row that stays exactly where I put it.
Because there’s no glue or heat anywhere in the process, the method itself is gentle. The whole job is getting the tension right and keeping the rows on schedule, which is where thirty years of doing this every day earns its keep.
The best extensions don’t ask you to change how you live. Beaded wefts are built to keep up with you, not the other way around.
Who they’re best for
Beaded wefts do their best work on medium-density hair: enough of your own hair to anchor the rows comfortably and hide them, and enough strength to carry a weft without strain.
If your hair is very fine or fragile, I’ll be honest with you: a row may be more weight than your hair should hold, and I’d rather protect it than push a method that doesn’t fit. In that case I’ll usually point you toward a lighter strand-by-strand option like K-Tip, which spreads the weight across many tiny bonds instead of a few rows. The right call depends on your actual hair, which is what the consultation is for.
What to expect
Installing beaded wefts is careful, hands-on work, and a good install takes time. I’ll place the rows where they’ll stay hidden and comfortable, then blend the wefts so they move naturally with your own hair.
Living with them is easy, and that’s part of the appeal: you can work out, wash, and go about your life with far less fuss than glue-based methods allow. Every few months you’ll come back so I can move the rows up as your natural hair grows, keeping everything secure and protecting your own hair underneath.
About the hair
A durable install deserves durable hair. I’m certified with Dream Catchers, the original beaded-weft system, and it’s often where I point clients who want a proven, hard-wearing option. As always, we’ll choose together based on your hair and your goals, not on what happens to be on the shelf.
Let’s see if it’s your method
The only way to know whether beaded wefts fit your hair and your life is to sit down and look at your actual hair. Thirty minutes in my chair and you’ll leave knowing whether this is the right method, what it would involve, and, if something lighter would serve you better, an honest recommendation instead.
The consultation is free and runs about half an hour. When you’re ready, text Terri to book.
Let’s be honest about fit.
A great fit if you…
- Live an active life: workouts, swimming, being outdoors
- Want a secure hold with no glue, tape, or heat
- Have medium-density hair that can anchor a row comfortably
- Want durable length and fullness with a natural feel
We should talk first if you…
- Have very fine or fragile hair that a row could strain
- Aren't able to keep a maintenance visit every few months
Not sure where you land? That’s exactly what the free consultation is for.
Common questions
What are beaded weft extensions?
Beaded wefts are strips of hair sewn onto small rows that I anchor in your own hair with beads. There's no glue, tape, or heat anywhere in the process. The beads create a secure foundation, and the weft is stitched to it so everything stays put.
Are beaded wefts good for active lifestyles?
They're my go-to for it. Because the hold comes from a sewn, beaded foundation rather than adhesive, sweat and water don't loosen them the way they can loosen tape. If you work out, swim, or spend real time in the Arizona heat, that durability matters.
Do beaded wefts damage your hair?
Not when the tension and maintenance are right. The key is beads that are snug but never tight, and moving the rows up before they can pull as your hair grows. I keep the rows comfortable and on schedule so your own hair stays healthy underneath.
How are beaded wefts different from hand-tied wefts?
Both are wefts sewn onto beaded rows, so they're close relatives. Beaded wefts tend to be a bit sturdier and are built for durability, while hand-tied wefts are thinner and lay a touch flatter. I'll help you weigh security against feel based on your hair and your lifestyle.
Is Dream Catchers a beaded-weft brand?
Yes. Dream Catchers is the original beaded-weft system, and I'm certified with them. When a client wants a proven, durable beaded-weft install, that's often the line I recommend.
